Do-Over. Clean-slate. Try again.
I have been installing, re-installing, tweaking and playing with blogging software since I dicovered greymatter way back when. I never seem to keep up enough writing momentum to avoid having a site turn into an out-dated pile of nonsense – no good for nobody.
There is no reason this attempt will turn out differently, so here goes nothing.
The question I keep asking myself is… why bother?
It has been fascinating watching blogs grow up, chronicling 9/11, War in Iraq, taking down Dan Rather (ahem – more like diverting attention away from the real issues), tsunamis, and Presidential Press Pool Plants. It’s a living thriving community that still has its growing pains. I guess I’d like to contribute too.
I have never been a journal keeper, and I am not a fan of reading someone else’s description of being stuck in traffic, what they had for lunch, or that they apologizing for a short entry because it has been a long day, so I will do my best to do none of that.
Ok. I know what I don’t want to do, but that didn’t explain what I do want to do with a blog, then.
- Organize some thoughts.
- Discuss the events.
- Promote good stuff (even though pagerank is dead).
- Contribute.
It’s funny. None of my friends blog, so I don’t have any built-in network of buddies to communicate with via this medium. So maybe someone will find their way here and find a nugget of useful info. That would be great. If not, I’ll be here. Unless I got distracted with playing with some new software set-up on another site, of course.
