XRAY vision for web developers

This is sweet.

One of my most used web development tools just got some serious competition. I have used MODi for a couple years now, and really haven’t dug into all the advanced usage of it, but XRAY looks pretty nice indeed.

I never jumped on the firebug train, mostly because Firefox on OSX is so dang SLOW. I much prefer Camino, thankyouverymuch.

What’s in your webdev toolbox these days?

XRAY is pretty sweet! I like it better than the FX web dev toolbar thingy so far. (And FX indeed is too slow on the Mac - crappy radio buttons too, which really bothers me for some reason.)

My toolbox is pretty small (mostly because I don’t program anything): all the browsers (Camino [which is also my favorite, and the one I use for everything], Firefox, Opera [just started using this, and the newest version actually seems pretty nice - a little weird here and there, but nice rendering and seemingly standards-complianter than before], and Safari [freaking hate Safari]); TextWrangler, and Transmit.

I use Tessa’s Thinkpad for PC testing, and usually only check out Firefox and IE. I did find out recently that Windows actually won’t let the user keep more than one version of IE on the computer, and you can’t download an older version (I updated, got IE7, then realized I really needed to test with IE6). What kind of deal is that?! I’m sure if I were more savvy, there’s a way to use an older version, but I’m certainly not PC-aware.
